Supposed that a guy hitting on you insults you by saying something like, “You think you’re too good for me, don’t you?” There is a name for it, typecasting, and it is designed to get you to change your behavior, to start being nice to him. What to do instead? If you answer his insults at all (which you shouldn’t; just walk away.) your answer is “Yes. So, why would you want to talk to me anyway?” Then, get away from him NOW. If a relationship begins with an insult, believe me, honey, it isn’t going anywhere but downhill after that. The word “no” is a complete sentence, and that is something it is NEVER too early to teach a guy, or anyone, really.
