A weekend like no other…The Tony Awards!

How often does one get to celebrate a “Big 4” acting nomination with a nominated family member?

Almost never!!! Well this girl is lucky enough to have a lovely and talented sister-in-law, who was again nominated for a Tony. AGAIN!

And OMG the New York City weekend we had celebrating her and doing this city in style.

It started with a party at Sardis…

and the unveiling of a fabulous caricature of Tony-nominated Jennifer Simard.

I love this city…so much so that one point I was considering moving here. Visiting felt like a second home to me. Then 2020…happened.

So it was so heartening to have it feel…almost “normal.”

And so what if we had to wear masks & show negative COVID tests sometimes? This is New York! We got our COVID test done ON THE STREET!

We saw “How I Learned to Drive,” with Mary Louise Parker, who (fun fact!) won her first Tony for lead actress in “Proof” 20 years ago, and it was the first Broadway drama I ever saw. The woman is…riveting on stage.

And of course we went through Central Park. We even went to Brooklyn. And the day after the awards ceremony we were able to meet up & spend much-needed time with Brad & Jenn at a lovely place by the park. Sarabeth’s. Highly recommend. (And get the lobster roll!).

What did I wear to the Tonys? A blue one-shoulder dress. And, of course, ALL the beauty products. How long did I take to get ready? ALL day. (Hey, #gottabeme).
