Summertime…and the weather is humid. Beauty can still be had!

Hello, Voyagers!

We are gonna make chic happen even when the weather doesn’t want us to. Our hair, eyes, face, and skin still deserve the very best from us, amirite?

First up: Hair. Hair is a difficult one, as while you are keeping the dreaded humidity away from your hair, you’re also, you know, keeping your hair free from that all-important moisture. So, be careful when you apply Kenra Professionals Platinum Blow-Dry Spray. It’s great, but use it sparingly so as not to dry out your hair over time. Professional hack: spray on wet hair and distribute evenly with a wide-toothed comb.

ignore the roots i didn’t have touched up before this photo shoot…

and look at the glorious frizz-free blowout I’m rockin.

Next, eyes! First read my previous blog about eye makeup and how to make it last!

I also have some good eyeliner news. MAC still has the most absolute foolproof waterproof eyeliner, and a little bird told me that they are expanding their colors again beyond black. Waterline application is also simple: 1. dry out your waterline with a cotton swab, dab an eyeliner brush into the Mac liner, and after you wipe it on, keep your eye open long enough for it to dry. Don’t worry; it doesn’t take that long!

Trust me, y’all.

This stuff Does. Not. Budge.

Body: Got some scars, dark spots or light spots you don’t want everyone to see while you’re in bright sunlight in a sundress…and thus in need of some body makeup? Well, you gotta try Huda shimmer body highlighter. Yes, it is shimmery as hell, so apply lightly (with Huda’s body brush), but it sure covers and lasts forever. Like, literally, you will be washing it off tomorrow in the shower, so don’t use a white washcloth when you do!

Face: For a long-lasting SPF, my go-to for years now is tinted moisturizer from CeraVe. It might be a bit pricey but the color is not chalky and just the right amount of glow-y, and it lasts through the heat. It is so highly rated by dermatologists and, as 100% mineral sunscreen, you can go right outside without waiting for it to absorb. Put a little on a sponge and spackle it onto your cheeks, forehead, and nose. Wait for it to dry and dab a bit of HD powder over it.

you’ll get through that texas summer

…with your hair and makeup in tact.
