Summer style to take you in autumn!

Hello, Voyagers!

Welcome to my first post-COVID fashion post. Cause…we all want to feel a little bit better about…well, life right now. And that means getting rid of those yoga pants or peeling off that onesie, and once again gaining confidence through how we present ourselves to the world once again.

Trying to decide?

If you’re like me, when all things are equal, you default to something bright or sparkly. And, hey, if you’re not like me, do it anyway. Especially this year. When we could all use a little sparkle.

It feels like, coming into our generation’s version of the roaring ‘20’s, right now it’s all about keeping our eyes forward with hope & optimism, and reflecting that brighter attitude in our clothes with fun colors & prints.

Whether money is tight or not, Voyagers, let’s face it: we still want our wardrobe to get a little bit of an update. That means buying pieces that can take us from one season to the next. Here are some ideas:

Short boots are always chic.

If you’re NOT like me, you can do that open-toed boot thing, which looks great on some. Just not me.

in the autumn*,

Lose the shorts.

Keep the short boots.

*Do I regret the hat? Maybe.

It’s probably not news to you that the secret to seasonal transition is layers (add tights to a sundress later, a denim jacker is ALWAYS cool, etc.). But fabrics matter, too. Like a tweed Chanel-type dress, which is light enough for now & solid enough for looking professional in cooler weather.

This one (you can find similar on nordstrom.com) is sleeveless, so you can wear it now, and add a cardi, tights & boots to it later.

I’m a big fan of graphic tees, particularly those that have snarky sayings. They’re almost always appropriate, and you can get them for a reasonable price from so many places, like Francesca’s or Etsy.

The graphic tees that you wear casually in the summer can follow you into fall with sharp blazers or structured cardigans. (Find other ideas for cute pink blazer outfits here.)

Why are funny graphic tees such a favorite of mine? Well, I’ll tell you. It makes people take notice, find you mildly entertaining, and let you even share a laugh, which gives you an instant connection…something we all need right now, amirite?

Now, go forth, Voyagers. Make chic happen. But most of all, stay Veracious.
